Naan pizza

The best instant pizza base I’ve found; not so thin that it’s like cardboard but not so thick that it’s like a sponge. And it’s just the right size too.

Put this delicious naan pizza together in a few minutes and it only takes 15 mins to cook.

  • 2 good and plain naan breads, I used Waitrose own plain naan
  • ½ tin of chopped tomatoes (200g’ish)
  • 1 very heaped tablespoon of tomato purée
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • sea salt
  • 1 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 2 balls of buffalo mozzarella, thinly sliced
  • coarse ground black pepper
  • a few leaves of fresh basil


Heat the oven to 220 degrees and line a large baking tray with oiled greaseproof paper.

Mix the tomatoes, purée, olive oil and salt together, don’t worry abut the small chunks of tomato at all.

Add the thinly sliced onion and the arrange the mozzarella slices all over.

Bake for 15 minutes then sprinkle with the black pepper to serve.

Serve with a large and colourful salad dressed with olive oil and white balsamic.
