Occupation?
Preserver! Strange I know, but it’s what I do. I have by own biz and everything called Perfectly Preserved.
What county do you live in?
I live in West Sussex.
What made you choose Nuush?
I’d seen it on Instagram and started following and when I decided I needed to lose a little weight for my holiday, the first foreign holiday in 10 years, I chose Nuush because I loved the look of the food.
How long have you been with Nuush and had you tried other diets?
I’ve been with Nuush since July 2018. I’d used Slimming World in 2003 and successfully lost weight then.
What inspires you?
Seasonality in all things!
What’s your desert island food?
Oh my, I am one of those people who doesn’t have favourite anything! The first thing that popped into my head when I read that was custard! But I think it would have to be potatoes as I could do more with those!
What are the joys and benefits of Nuush?
The joys are that all your meals are planned for you and that it’s real food and nothing is off limits. The benefits are endless but the main one for me is that it’s given me a new lease of life at 56, I never ever thought I’d weigh the same now as I did in my twenties. It also means I can now shop with pleasure and joy rather than dread and frustration.
One piece of advice for anyone living with you?
Watch out for the lentils.
Most interesting thing you’ve learnt this week?
That what I do everyday for everyone in my house has a name; life admin.
What’s your food nemesis?
Pastries.
Favourite Nuush meal?
Creamy tomato soup with a cheese sandwich
Porridge in all its proper forms
The speedy curry
Told you I can’t do favourites.
Favourite form of activity?
Reading a good book in the bath.
What’s one of your family’s speciality dishes?
Dad’s holiday pasta. It’s a can of condensed mushroom or chicken soup, some onions, bacon and mixed herbs (he puts them in everything) all cooked together to make a sauce then he cooks spaghetti and mixes it all together. He only ever makes it when we’re on holiday. It’s nothing special in a culinary sense but it’s full of memories of our family holidays and therefore priceless at the same time.
One big thing you’ve learnt from Nuush?
I like full fat milk in my tea.
Last thing you ate?
Cod loin, mashed potatoes, cavolo nero and creamed leeks. That was dinner last night, it’s gone 10am and I haven’t had breakfast yet! That’s another thing I’ve learnt from fitnat, to eat when hungry and stop when full.
What one piece of health advice would you give people?
Eat three good meals a day and let your body do what it needs to do in the evenings!
Tell us something about yourself that people will find riveting?
I had coffee and carrot cake with Kylie Minogue.
