A cuppa with… Emily Luijbregts

Meet Emily, who lives in the Netherland, has two Siberian Huskies and has run hundreds (hundreds??) of marathons!

Occupation?

Project Manager.

What county (or country) do you live in?

The Netherlands but I’m originally from the UK.

What made you choose Nuush?

I was recommended Nuush through a running friend of mine after they had fantastic results with it. I was struggling to find a meal plan that worked for me and my hectic lifestyle so went on Personalised Nutrition to begin with as I needed the structure of what to eat, with it being flexible to my life.

How long have you been with Nuush and had you tried other diets?

I’ve been on and off with Nuush since 2013. I’ve tried a bit of everything! Mainly around the Low GI diet and some other fads but I never really had any success with them.

What inspires you?

That’s a hard one! I’d say ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I’ve got friends that have achieved some amazing feats like running 250 miles around the Thames Ring or conquering a fear of heights by jumping out of a plane.

What’s your desert island food?

A roast dinner. Our oven isn’t big enough to really able to make a proper roast dinner. It’s one food that always reminds me of home.

What are the joys and benefits of Nuush?

That’s easy. It takes the thought process out of healthy food. The planning is done for you so you don’t need to think about it and because it’s so simple, it works. There’s no gimmicks, it’s just healthy, honest food with a great realistic healthy ethos. One of my biggest ‘joys’ with fitnat has to be the new foods that I’ve eaten with it. I used to only eat cheddar cheese and now I’m eating Feta, Mozzarella and blue cheeses!

One piece of advice for anyone living with you?

Get your active shoes on! I’ve got two Siberian Huskies and we’re out a lot. Either running, walking or on a scooter. If you’re living with me, you’ll not be inside a lot!

Most interesting thing you’ve learnt this week?

NASA can literally email tools to astronauts, all thanks to 3D printing.

What’s your food nemesis?

Most types of fish.

Favourite Nuush meal?

Courgette Carbonara.

Favourite form of activity?

Running.

What’s one of your family’s speciality dishes?

Roast dinners.

One big thing you’ve learnt from Nuush?

I don’t need to snack and it’s not just about food. It’s about an entire attitude to food and eating well.

Last thing you ate?

Colourful salad with feta and an orange.

What one piece of health advice would you give people?

Take time to breathe and take some time to focus on you.

Tell us something about yourself that people will find riveting?

I’ve run over 120 marathons and reached 100 marathons within 3 years (!). All of them with the fitnat mentality!
