Occupation?
Teaching Assistant in an infant school.
What county do you live in?
West Midlands…..but I don’t have that awful accent 🤔 😉
What made you choose Nuush?
A friend raved on about it and I could see it was working for her. Having the will power of a gnat I needed some focus. I wanted to improve my running and I knew that wasn’t going to happen if I kept coming in from running club and eating a family size packets of crisps. 🤦🏼♀️
How long have you been with Nuush and had you tried other diets?
I was with Nuush for, gosh no idea how long, lost weight went out on my own and kinda lost my way a bit so came back. I like the focus and the support. The Facebook support page is great for that. I did Slimming World for a bit and of course it works but SO much of it went against the grain and I found it very difficult to keep my trap shut. The amount of artificial sweeteners in stuff, cereal bars for breakfast, it’s complete madness and people go week after week and nothing changes…
What inspires you?
Seeing ordinary people doing amazing stuff…we have a lady who’s 82 who’s comes to our parkrun with her dog. She walks miles every day with her dog and we’ll often see her when we’re out on our Sunday run.
What’s your desert island food?
Ooh difficult…can I take 10 things!? If I could only take one “treat” it would be crisps – salt and vinegar. Along with salad/veg/fruit – wouldn’t want to be constipated would I!!
What are the joys and benefits of Nuush?
Having the ideas in front of me of what to eat, knowing the it’s all balanced and healthy. The support and friendship of the Facebook page and of course Sally and her squeaky voice. But the biggest joy is the number of running PBs that I’ve managed to get having shed a stone of lard!
One piece of advice for anyone living with you?
Don’t put too much milk in my tea.
Most interesting thing you’ve learnt this week?
Put your mind to it you can achieve anything.
What’s your food nemesis?
I’m OK if it’s not in the house…can’t have wine in because I’d have to drink it and that would mean crisps/nuts and any other salty snack I can find. Likewise chocolate, I would just drink tea and eat it until it’s gone. No willpower.
Favourite Nuush meal?
Oh grief, so many…aubergine parmagiana, veggie enchiladas, nut roast.
Favourite form of activity?
🏃♀️ Running! And walking the dog.
What’s one of your family’s speciality dishes?
Ooh tricky, you’d have to ask the family…I do a good roast dinner even thou I don’t eat the meat! And Daught has plenty of veggie favourites, especially lasagne.
One big thing you’ve learnt from fitnat?
You can eat full fat and lose weight.
Last thing you ate?
Left over Mexican Bean stew…might be regretting that during Sunday’s race! 😳
What one piece of health advice would you give people?
Go to parkrun.
Tell us something about yourself that people will find riveting?
Riveting!? Crikey I’m pretty boring! I travelled loads in BH/BC (before husband/children) days sometimes I look back and think was that really me, did I really do all that! Got loads of toilet stories from my travels, one day I’ll knock on Sally’s door and spend an afternoon telling her them…oh! And I was once on the cover of Runner’s World and I’m on the box set DVD of Green Wing!
